The Performers
So just after I typed yesterday's entry, the doctor called and said that the skin irritation was due to a piece of equipment that they used to remove a very "stubborn" tooth in the upper left hand side of my mouth. He said it's typical for a person with fair skin. Lucky me!! It looks gross!!! Also, he said they only pulled 4 teeth (the agreement). I just felt like they had pulled more since it feels so different in there...
I decided to take another day off because I still didn't feel better. I always struggle with whether I should take time off work. The determining factor is usually what I want to do if I stayed home. If I want to run around town and get errands done, then I should go to work (unless I really have the time available to be paid while I'm off and it's a legitimate reason). Or if I want to stay in bed, then I know it's appropriate. So, this morning, I looked at myself in the mirror and decided that I could sleep, and have for the last 3 hours! My landlady is having the house cleaner & her son here today and they're playing Spanish music pretty loud in the living room. So, now it's time to decide: do I get up and make my presence known and spoil their fun? Do I eat what's in my frig or wait until the "common area" is available? Do I just go back to sleep? AUGH!!
Also, I forgot to mention last time that Will & I did a 5k (3.1 miles) run a few weekends ago. He did great (as usual!) on time and I came in 2 minutes slower than I did on the exact same run when I was training faithfully a year ago! That was a bit unsettling!
Yesterday, I rested for a while in the morning, got up and went to Kinkos for my BIG project (printing the first page), talked with a Deputy about what the next steps are (and again received a different story). He was nice and all, I'm just not sure I agree with him. I'm going to call the Sergeant back and see what his advice is... And then I went to the bank to change one of my compromised accounts. Right after my car was stolen (and this information went with it), the bank guy was able to convince me that based on the measure of security involved in these accounts, it would be difficult to withdraw the funds.... So, I listened. Since they have a drivers license in my name, it was time to take action! Then, I came home and watched Anne of Green Gables. I always cry when Matthew dies!!
Will brought over a movie on Audrey Hepburn last night. It was her story. I thought of you, Deb, as we watched it. I remember how we talked about her work with the starving people in Africa (?) and how she could relate given her background. Although she did reminisce about WWII and grieve over the lack of relationship with her father, for the most part, this movie portrayed her quite cheerfully. Anyway....
So, I guess the house cleaners left. It's awful quiet out there! I guess they wanted to make a grand departure with the music! =)
Until next time.... ttfn =)
