Checking in…

It’s class time. The discussion is on spiritual gifts. We have a little over an hour left. Students are presenting tonight. Ephesians 4, I Corinthians 12, Romans 12 & I Peter 4.

Will and I went to Phoenix over the weekend to be at a friend’s wedding. We had a great time! The wedding was beautiful! And we had a great time connecting with old friends and even were able to make it to the Grand Canyon! He’s never been and really enjoyed it! There were features of a whirlwind trip because we went from Phoenix, up to the Grand Canyon and back to a city on the way to Tucson called Florence all in one day! We started driving at 6 a.m. and ended at 9 p.m. (stopped a few times along the way…). Needless to say, we were tired! But, we pretty much stayed in Phoenix other than that.

After one awe experience of seeing the Grand Canyon, on the way home, we had another awe moment! A very cool development! I’m a recipient of a scholarship! I applied a few months ago for a scholarship and half-heartedly believed that I could be selected. Then 2 weeks ago, I was interviewed and found out that I was one of three candidates. And then on the way home from the Grand Canyon, got the news! God is good! And needless to say, we are VERY blessed!! Every little bit helps!!

One of the bummers that we faced when we got home was that our dog – the Big Dummy – escaped. My mother in law, who was taking care of them, found him on the doorstep. She said he was very humble and quiet when he came home and then discovered that he was bruised and bleeding. He’s bandaged now and seems to be doing better. We’re hoping that it will teach him not to run away, but honestly he’s pretty thick, so we’ll see.

Tonight’s discussion is truly interesting, so I don’t mean to imply that it’s boring. I am truly grateful to have the opportunity to study at Talbot. And I have been even been surprisingly pleased lately with the school’s administration!
