Going somewhere?
Saturdays appear to be the most convenient days for me to post... I suppose it's because after my long runs, I can just lay in bed and use the computer without more stress on the body....
Speaking of long runs, I ran 7-8 miles today. I couldn't tell with certainty because the mile marker person seemed to have missed a few points of reference and I KNOW that I did more than just 2 out. So, I ran for an hour and 15 minutes and went home. Also, thanks to my physical trainer friend, my routine now includes 20 minutes of icing after the cool-down stretch. Training for a marathon is a real time-hogger!
Well, the interview went really well! Three people attended; one person I have been working on a project for 6 months with, his manager and a colleague. The manager announced at the beginning he didn't have a list of questions for me and because I had a working relationship with one of the others in the room, it was more relaxed than other interviews that I've had. They took me out into the City and explained some of their goals in development and some of the past jobs (widening highways and other street improvements). It sounds like a learning curve for me, which I honestly don't mind. The part I did mind was that it was a temporary, no benefits kind of job. Anyway, so I gave it some thought for a week and then turned them down. What I thought was particularly interesting is that the person I have been working with for several months personally e-mailed me back and said he didn't blame me for turning it down. Actually, I really appreciated hearing that....
Because of Mother's Day, the Utah training meeting in So. Orange County tomorrow is canceled, so I won't receive my weekly training on how to properly deal with heresy... ahh!
Mothers. Have you spent much time thinking about your mother lately? I have... Fortunately, I have two (and many others vying for the position) and it's something to think about them and their influence in my life. My mother on one hand is full of issues, but she is very loyal and a relatively good listener and then there's Olga, my stepmother. So thank and bless your mothers! We are fortunate to have life and have them!
As for this next week, my boss is in Ireland and you know what they say: the mice will play. No, actually, there is a lot to do and if nothing else, I can at least clear off my desk!
Work, run, eat, sleep, hang out with friends, run... Pretty much life right now.
